Cooks cove walk!

I took the the first step up cooks cove walk, as soon as I took the first  step I knew this was going to take a long time.  We starting walking up we got up to the beacon of light that's where we had a water break after the water break we kept on moving.

30 minutes past until we stopped to look at the amazing view I also had some water and the we were going down on the other side of the hill.  Once we got to the bottom of the hill we headed to a forest we were walking in the forest for about 15 minutes and then we came across a baby owl in the trees we all stopped to look at the owl and then kept on moving.

We got out of the forest and there was a wharepaku about ten of us went toilet once everyone got back in there groups we kept on moving we got to the end of the walk and had a snack and then walked back it took us 2 to 3 hours to finish the walk and my legs nearly melted of my bones

At the end I felt good and exhausted once I finished school I went home and had a nap.

Back to school

4 weeks ago I came back to school for the first time since the holidays had started last year. On the second week we walked all the way to Hamanatua stream, the sun was blazing down upon us. On the next day we walked up to Mangaroa, it was really steep, and the rocks made it easy to slip. The fields stank with cow poo, luckily it didn't put me off my exquisite lunch .

On the 3rd week, on the Friday we were sorted with parent transport to go to the beach. Hamish, Max's dad was the parent that would push me, Tre, Millie and Cory into waves he pushed me on a good as wave I stood up started turning and riding on the wave then it just smashed me off my board.

It was week 3 and we were going to Te Poho -O- Rawiri marae and we learnt a song called Mama panda, its about the elders making bread for the younger.  And then I realized we were going places of our pepeha.

kapa haka

We were on the stage ready to perform.  I had butterflies in my stomach. Koka Sue (guitarist) started  playing the guitar and we started singing Etairiki, once we finished everyone clapped and then Bay (kaia) said neke Maui and the boys took a step to the right so we weren't in line with the girls.

Next we sang Utina after that then the boys did a different Utina at the same time with the girls while we were doing the Utina the boys moved to the front and the girls moved to the back then we finished the song the boys did the haka.  But the bad thing was we did the haka way to fast and same with the second haka. then we sang Wainui E and while we sang Wainui E the boys moved to the back once we were at the back and the girls moved forward.  Then we sang the start of Wainui E and the boys walked off the stage but kept singing then all the girls walked off still singing until the front row of girls were left they were on the stage for the whole song then after Wainui E the girls walked off.

cricket

Room 3 had to go play cricket after morning tea.  We showed up and Joey was there and we got in to groups of 6 and we were playing a game called steal the balls i'm not sure if thats what its called.  But there was balls in the middle and my group got into a line then when Joey counts down to 5 we run and grab the balls once we touch a ball were not allowed to move we have to throw the ball to the next person in line and if they don't catch it they have to put the ball back in the middle and you have run to the back of the line then the next person runs then when there's no balls left you count up how much you have and that's how you win.

After that we lined up in are groups and joey said we were going to play a game of cricket he halved the class into 2 groups I was in the fielding team they got 27 runs in total then we switched.  And I was the batting team, finally it was my turn I grabbed hold of the batt and matua bea (the bowler) threw the ball I hit it and ran I got 1 point then he threw the ball again and I ran I got 2 more points.  Once everyone had hit the ball and got out we added up our points and we got 26 points.
